What will it be like?
So your going to have surgery. You might be freaked out now but it isn't that bad. You just have to have fun and enjoy yourself. There is really nothing to be scared about, you are very safe at the hospital.
When you wake up from surgery you might feel a bit yucky but that won't last for long. You will probably have whats called an IV and it will probably be in your hand or near your hand. That's so the doctors and nurses can give you medicine so that you feel better. After a few days, once your feeling better, they will take that out. When they take it out you might think that it will hurt but it doesn't hurt at all. After a few days you will also start the lengthening. That doesn't hurt at all either. You only lengthen the tiniest bit at a time.
Physio is very important to do. It may hurt a bit at first but the more you do it the less it hurts. So if you do it when your supposed to, it will get really easy. Pin care is also very important. It may hurt a bit at first when the surgery is first done but it shouldn't hurt for long.
When the frame is off you may have to have a cast. Make sure you get all your friends and family to sign it. When the cast comes off it is not scary. You may think it looks scary but it actually tickles.
